The Intern/Assistant Brand Manager reports to the Brand Manager and leads projects/initiatives that will maximize sales and profit growth for his/her brand. He/she will accomplish this by putting forward recommendations on the strategic direction for the brand and by championing business building ideas based on sound business analyses. The Brand Intern will present his/her ideas and recommendations to Senior Management.
The 2010 Summer Internship Program will last for 11 weeks.

The Brand Intern's responsibilities will include one major project which may include one of the following:
- Recommending the attractiveness of new product opportunities based on factors such as market size, strategic fit and financial attractiveness;
- Assessing competitors' strengths, weaknesses, strategies and plans to recommend options to compete more effectively;
- Evaluating the attractiveness of specific consumer segments and recommending, as appropriate, how to position the brand against these consumer segments;
- Quantifying incremental sales opportunities via increased distribution in new channels;
- Determining if consumer promotions programs are driving trial and/or loyalty profitably;
- Leveraging analyses to update management on the business.
The Brand Intern will be a current candidate for a Master's degree in Business Administration and possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience;
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, including the ability to establish and deliver goals in a team or independent work environment;
- A proven record of delivering results by fostering communication, preparing written communication and speaking/ presenting effectively;
- Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to make recommendations based on in-depth quantitative analyses;
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills with demonstrated ability to identify key issues, make well supported fact-based recommendations, and identify & implement appropriate actions;
- Ability to partner effectively and achieve results through influencing team members and agency partners;
- Demonstrated ability to understand and incorporate customer needs in the decision making process;
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment;
- US citizenship/Permanent Resident status (sponsorship not provided).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Marketing or marketing-related experience (such as advertising, media, internet marketing, medical marketing, public relations, market research, consumer promotions, or new product development); or
- Consumer packaged goods or healthcare related work experience.
